About this picture...
This crayfish is frozen by the flash of the strobe as it bursts away from the bottom in an
explosion of silt. The bug can travel 3-4 feet in a half second with a single contraction
of its powerful tail. The green strands are colonies of algae floating in the water. Taken
September 1998 at 25 feet depth with a Nikonos V 20 mm lens, 2 YS-50 strobes.
